About Johanna
Jo Tysk was raised in Akalla in northern Stockholm. At 19 she left Sweden to do six months of European Voluntary service in Thessaloniki, Greece. Shortly after returning back to Sweden (and one semester of History of Ideas studies at Stockholm University) she received a Rotary academic scholarship and left again – this time for Atlanta, Georgia.
She spent her first year in the US at Reinhardt College on the countryside outside of Atlanta, taking Fine Arts and Visual Communication classes. She then transferred to ACA (Atlanta College of Art) in central Atlanta, where she took Advertising Design and Graphic Design classes for two years. Her last year in Atlanta was spent at Savannah College of Art and Design (after merger with ACA) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.
Upon graduation, Jo moved to New York, where she worked for one year at Publicis Modem, a digital ad agency, as an Interactive Graphic Designer.
After returning to Sweden she took a year of hiatus (voluntary non working) to digest life. She then decided to start her own design and communication studio, and also got involved with community work out of her new home base Tensta with previous projects such as Love Tensta and current project Creative Call: ATLxSTHLM.
Jo is a seeker and a finder, and a believer in the power of visions, imagination and knowledge of self. She is driven by curiosity and love for human beings, and the pursuit of peace.

“Johanna pulls out the core of what you want to communicate with great intuition and feeling "

"Johanna Tysk is a good friend. That might be the most important thing for us at Tröstisar AB, to work with a designer who creates with her heart. The friendship Tröstisar and Johanna have is beyond expectations and performance, and that´s exactly why we feel like Tröstisar is the nicest thing Johanna ever created. Tröstisar love Johanna and are forever grateful for giving them life. Johanna is an opportunity for unborn ideas to take shape, with love and power. Hugs!"
Shama Margareta Schwieler, Owner of Tröstisar AB, Stockholm.
Jerlyn Thomas, senior Art Director and former co-worker, New York.
“I first met Johanna when looking for a designer with vast experience of web design. As we started to work together, Johanna not only showed her abilities to create great design for web interfaces but also her wonderful approach to make visions, missions and concepts come alive. This she does by tons of research and letting the concept be a part of her person – and once the concept goes through her veins – there will always be great design.”
David Schwieler, Head of Digital at INGO Sthlm.
